I like the PWO thread like this a lot so I figured I'd start one for this board.

Use this thread to keep us abreast of what you've been watching for fun recently. Maybe a random youtube match or something classic....

Shout out some good shows/matches/angles/promos or warn us away from WRESTLECRAP!

I add this only for the novelty of the match up:

Ultimo Dragon vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage

Ultimo is basically treated as a job guy here as the match is sub 3 mins and Dragon only gets a brief offensive flurry.

My friends sons are getting into wrestling. They are 9 and 6. They have a WWE video game, All Stars. In the game there are legends...naturally, they're interested in Hogan, Warrior, Jake, Mankind, HBK, Austin, Piper.

I've been digging out old tapes and showing some select stuff. Mania VI Warrior vs. Hogan, Mania VII Warrior vs. Savage, Mania VIII Piper vs. Hart, Mind Games Mankind vs. Michaels, Jake vs. Savage SMNE.

It's been fun, and they are digging it.

What did they think of Hogan/Warrior given their lack of seeing the long term build of both men going unbeaten for so long? Otherwise it's just super charisma musclehead vs. Wacky roid monkey

I was at the first Nitro, sort of. The crowd in the mall's rotunda was so large and the area was not meant for a wrestling show, so finding a view of the ring for the most part impossible. I headed to a sports bar in the mall and watched the show on TV there.

Trying to keep up with the usual indie stuff - Guerrilla, Hollywood, and New England mostly. Plus lots of lucha lately. And some 80's Puerto Rico sprinkled in - Hansen, Funk, Martel, Savio, and truckloads of Carlos Colon.

If I had to toss out a Random Match Worth Watching to some of you guys, I'd highly recommend checking out this FANTASTIC match between LA Park and Dr. Wagner, Jr. from last May.

http://youtu.be/v57-ppkdTN4

Trust me. It's awesome. If you're a fan of good ole fashion wrestling of ANY type - you'll dig it. It's essentially a super fun southern style bloody BRAWL, but it tells a tremendous story that's EASILY accessible and simple to get into. Turn the volume down or mute it altogether if ya must, but trust me - it's worth checking out. Put on your favorite playlist in the background or whatever. But it's a great match that has already served me well as a means of getting some of my friends dialed into lucha viewing. [Big Grin]

Park has proven consistently that he can still deliver - in very strong fashion - when it comes to these over-the-top awesome, "big match feel" type brawls. And Wagner's as on point as ever during their entire feud together. They worked several matches before this in the series that are good, too - but this one is just so easy to absorb from a storytelling standpoint.

There are so many things in this match alone that I wish somebody in the states would just steal on a big stage.

For one, Park is bloodletting in this bout like a stuck pig. His mask is drenched to the point where - at about 20 minutes in - the doctor is trying to bandage him up, patch him up, wrap his mask like a freaking mummy - ANYTHING he can to stop the bleeding. It's great. And the fight just rages on.

When I look at Wagner, I see shades of what the babyface Del Rio could have become if he'd been given more time and opportunities to work that style. He was getting there, and he was showing signs of it in the higher-level main events he was allowed to work. While I can get into his ruthless Scarface heel act when he's behaving like he did versus Ziggler, I just don't really care to see it against a guy that is clearly made to outclass him - like a Cena, Batista, etc.

I really think he could've done more as a Wagner-like babyface. Heck, I wish he'd swipe the Falcon's Arrow style Driver and just use it as a setup to transition straight into his Cross Armbreaker submission. That alone would help freshen the guy up a bit.

But enough of my ranting. Hope some of ya find the time or interest to scope out the match. It's definitely quality viewing. Oh, and the finish is pretty darn fun.

I travel back to 1985 to watch the Dream Team battle Ricky Steamboat and Tito Santana, and the "blow off" of Hogan vs. Mr. Wonderful's first feud. Then we head to 1991 for "Rowdy" Roddy Piper taking aim at the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, The Road Warriors vs.The Natural Disasters and THE BERZERKER steals the show!

I am working my way through the shows on the WWE Network chronologically. (but not going back to shows if they add them after I pass their air date)

I am up to Wrestlemania VI, and it has been eye-opening to see how Wrestling changed through the 80s, and how much it stayed the same.

Rick Rude is awesome. Heel Andre is awesome.
